Communication interface Modem describes modem connection type. Device is connected to the PC through ethernet interface by modem in the device side (dataloggers and ATP series). For more information about M2M system see chapter M2M modem.

New communication interface (port) Modem

Creating of new communication interface (port) is designed as wizard with 2 steps.

Step 1: Selection of communication interface type

For connection through Modem select Modem option and press Next button.

Step 2: Communication interface properties settings

Write interface name (Port name), write modem M2M address (option Address), write your key to the option Secure communication key if you want (default value is empty string), choose if you allow autodownload function use this interface (port) by option Autodownload and press OK button.

Edit communication interface (port) Modem

Port name
Name of communication interface (port). This option is designed for interface (port) identification in the list of communication interfaces (ports).

Address
M2M address of the modem. See your M2M account card.

Secure communication key
This option allow you prevent unauthorized access to your modem (device). Write your password there and remember it, because it's important for modem configuration (see option Security communication key)!

Autodownload
This option enable selected interface for autodownload function.
